Honda's 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon Offerings

Honda will also display an array of other models at this weekend's 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon. The Japanese automaker's stand will see the presentation of the glitzy Life and the blacked out Crossroad Styling Study Models, a Racing Modulo Civic Type R competition vehicle, the Sports Modulo Civic Type R, Touring Modulo Accord, Touring Modulo Accord Tourer, Modulo Odyssey Absolute, Modulo Odyssey, Life, Zest Spark, Freed and the Fit Sports Neo. 2009 Honda Insight Hybrid Official Specs

The hybrid drivetrain is matted to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). As with the IMA, the Insight utilizes a set of batteries to store the energy that would otherwise be lost during braking. The energy is then used to power the electric motor. Honda claims that the Insight achieves a combined fuel consumption in the European test cycle of 4.4 liters per 100 km (53.5mpg US) with CO2 emissions of only 101 g/km.
